Doe Patients experience discomfort during the treatment?
While some patients might experience mild discomfort during the procedure, the sensation largely depends on their individual skin type, sensitivity, and the specific area undergoing treatment. How long does the treatment take and is there any downtime afterward?
Based on the treatment area and size, a session can range from 5-20 minutes. After treatment, patients may experience mild redness and swelling but they can immediately return to normal activities. Redness can be covered with light makeup if desired.
What skincare routine should I follow before and after Clarity II™ laser hair removal?
Before your treatment, avoid using products that can irritate the skin, such as:
- Retinoids (Retin-A, tretinoin)
- Exfoliating acids (glycolic, salicylic, or lactic acid)
- Self-tanners or skin-lightening agents
Discontinue these products at least 3–5 days before treatment, and arrive with clean, product-free skin.
After your treatment, it’s important to:
- Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to soothe the skin
- Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, especially on exposed areas
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, and sweating for 24–48 hours
- Do not exfoliate or use active skincare ingredients for at least 3 days post-treatment
